Boxing is one of the best cardio-respiratory workouts you can do. The fitness level of an Amateur or Professional Boxer is unmatched in sports. Boxing requires a full body movement, and there is not a muscle untouched when you exercise regularly. Because you engage all of your muscle groups during a sessions, Boxing increases your cardio endurance, helps with weight loss, and strengthens your heart. It also:

MEET YOUR COACH
Joseph Anthony

Joseph “Stacks” Mejia comes from a family of boxers. His father, Jose Mejia, boxed and trained out of John’s Gym in The Bronx, NY and pursed a professional boxing career. His Uncle, Luis Mejia, trained and boxed out of California and pursued a professional boxing career as well. Traveling to the gym to watch his father train eventually turned into traveling to the gym to train for himself. 

 

Joseph Mejia started training at Johns Gym, boxing was put on the shelf due to life circumstance No longer living in the Bronx, at the time going to the gym was not an option. It wasn't until Joseph moved to Queens, NY and started training at the Lost Battalion PAL, under the teachings of Stephen and Tony Maiorano, that Joseph began pursing amateur bouts. 

 

Years learning the craft and gaining experience eventually opened up the opportunity for him to train under the tutelage of Andre Rozier and Gary Starks in Brooklyn NY. Joseph would go on to fight more amateur bouts and tournaments under Andre and Gary with a plan to pursue a Professional Career. 

 

Unfortunately, a car accident would put a halt to Joseph’s career as a professional boxer and although the pursuit of a professional boxing career was steady in his heart, injuries to his spine and knees forced him to bow out of the sport of boxing as a competitor. But not as a Coach. 

 

Since then, Joseph has continued to dedicate himself to the sport of boxing, learning and developing strategies and systems to teach anyone willing to learn. Years have been spent in the gym along with hours upon hours of studying the world's most renowned as well as undervalued fighters, both past and present, to bring Joseph to this point in his career - a point that will finally allow him to build solid fighters around sound fundamentals.

 

Joseph is a certified USA Boxing Coach with numerous bouts under his belt.

 

Joseph also has a background in nutrition and fitness.
